Quiet Riot

The motto of French label Youngunz is ‘While You Sleep We Destroy the World.’ This describes the way I feel about blogging. The day your internet goes down or you have too much ‘real work’ on at the office, is the day that you blink and miss something big happening to the music world. You snooze, you lose.

While I’ve been snoozing, Manaré has been making his way up the ranks of the production world, through party organising, to working at Dirk De Ruyck’s Abracada label, through his Speakeasy EP on Youngunz, and finally to his latest release, the Quiet Riot EP on Finland’s Top Billin.

Speakeasy itself is pretty difficult to let go of, with intoxicating jazz overtones intermingled with African beats, and the Renaissance Man remix has played a large part in our summer dancing this year.

Manaré – Belly Dance (Merk Many Remix)

Quiet Riot has three originals Voodoo, Belly Dance, and my favourite, the storming Blitzkrieg Riddim, and remixes from L-Vis 1990 and French Fries among others. You can stream the whole release on Soundcloud here, or buy it on Beatport now.
