Tierkratz have been quietly sending us great mixtapes for a while now, and this one, like the others, is wonderfully listen-on-repeat-able, it smoothly bounces along, starting with the beautiful Cream by Claptone (released this week on Exploited), also featuring the first of their own productions that I’ve heard as yet, U Don’t Know nestled in the middle.
I love the man, and two hours of him on the essential mix is going to make my day. Have a listen.
You snooze you lose, especially on something as huge as Dan Pearce (Eats Everything) and Chris James‘s collaboration Coat of Arms and their bimonthly mixtapes. I was slow off the mark on the December-January mix, so I’m going to share February-March with you while it’s fresh. So fresh, in fact, that we don’t have a tracklist yet, but I’ll add it in as soon as we get it.

I’m always delighted when there’s a new Miguel Puente mix to add a bit of funk to my day in the office, and a quick flick through this one assures me it’s just as damn good as I’d expected, with tracks like the beautiful Equal Responsibilty by Climbers (7 mins in, so very very lovely), and Eliphino’s More Than Me (28 mins). Yum.
There’s so much great music coming from Mexico at the moment. Louie Fresco, Miguel Puente, Climbers and Damian Uzabiaga all brought together at the legendary BPM Festival in January.
We’ve had our eyes on Louie Fresco and Jay Blakk (of Climbers)’s Mexa Records for a couple of months, and they’ve just given us something to sink our teeth into with this new promo mix, full of funk and disco all nice and bassed up.

Some proper funk from Bristol buddies Eats Everything and Lukas, forthcoming on the Futureboogie ’10′ album to celebrate their tenth anniversary. VERY nice.
What a lovely build – starting off with the smooth and sexy that we’ve come to expect from Alexis Raphael, then ending with some hardcore thumping that’ll warm you up this frosty February.
Sadly no tracklist at the moment but that’s probably because it’s chocka block with unreleased exclusives that we might have to wait for a while for.
Oliver $ and Gene Siewing have been combining their Berlin-US forces into the mighty Chubby Dubz since 2004, and their album Direct Experience is forthcoming on Loungin Recordings. To celebrate, they’re offering the Art Bleek remix of the title track as a free download.
2012 is going to be the year of Digital Delight, starting on 31 January when they release their tenth EP X, a thirteen-track tonne of hot new talent featuring Death on the Balcony, Miguel Puente, Sishi Rösch and Will Crawshaw.
Their brand of ‘music for adults’ began in 2010 and was honed throughout 2011 by releases such as Rebel‘s Grass Roots EP and Lati & Jonny Cruz‘s storming Up In Smoke, complete with the magic ingredient to any nu-sleaze-bass package, a remix by Miguel Puente. Only fitting, then, that the tenth release should be a collaboration between their wider family, new and old, such as Wildkats joining with The 112.
