In music news, we were pleased to hear this week that Filthy Dukes‘ second album is almost wrapped up. Take a listen to this beauty (remind me to post the free download when they give it away on the Fabric Blog in the next couple of weeks) Time To Let Go by Filthy Dukes
We’ve been writing this blog for two-and-a-half years now so hopefully you might have a bit of an understanding of what artists we just implicitly trust, and which ones never fail us. So much so that when they do a new mix we post it, and you download it. You don’t even really need any words from me. Bowski is one of them.
Sleep On – Bowski
Heimat (Robag’s Turmkolle Rekksmow) – Kollektiv Turnstrasse
Take Me Away (Schatrax Remix) – Matthew Burton + Nick Lawson
Touch Me – Hunter_Game
Brooklyn Bullets – Neuroxyde + Aki Bergen
Signa – Kaiserdisco
Krambambuli – Animal Trainer
Hold On – Florian Blauensteiner

Dayz – Mathew Jonson
Faking Jazz Together (Michael Mayer Remix) – Connan Mockasin
He’s been busy on the production front too, so he’s shared a little preview minimix here: Upcoming tracks by Bowski
We love a new Bowski mix! He’s just so consistently great, you know? I’m a big fan of clicky dance tracks and no-one’s mastered them quite like Bowski. This mix makes me want to do what he’s doing in the photograph.
Thanks to Breaks of Ten for getting the amazing Bowski to do a mixtape. He makes me want to jump out of my seat and bounce around the office. And he does it without repetition – his track-finding ability is second-to-none. He’s playing at XOYO next Saturday with Fake Blood. DREAM TEAM.
You need no more words from me on this one, just listen.
Here’s a bit of electro to get you going on a Monday morning.
Minnie’s The Dishwasher’s Broken Mix

Friday hangover part II, after the legendary Bowski took to the decks last night at The Russian Bar for Joe and Will Ask‘s Vikings 004. If you’ve not been to a Vikings night yet then absolutely get yourselves down to the next one (watch this space for details next month). The energy in Joe and Will Ask sets mingles happy-go-lucky bouncy beats with grinding electronic basslines, and the atmosphere is one of a great house party: friends catch up and dance with infectious smiles. I’ve been waiting to see Bowski play ever since we first wrote about him last April, and he’s still got that ability to truly surprise people. My favourite thing in the whole world is a night where I have homework afterwards – the obsessive tracking down (often with very little to go on other than a hummed melody; after all, there’s only so many tracks in a night that you can pester the DJ for the name of) of new tracks that blow my mind. Thankfully, one that we did ask about was his remix of Cassius I Love U So, part of the new remixes EP on Ed Banger. It’s a beaut.
This all ties in rather nicely to events this weekend, as The Fat! Club are giving away the Bowski remix of Boy 8-Bit’s The Keep to celebrate Boy 8-Bit’s appearance at Chew the Fat! at Cable tomorrow, alongside the mighty Zinc. I see a rooooooaaadddddbbbblooocccckkkk….There’s an exclusive interview with the Boy himself here.
It always made perfect sense that Fake Blood was a champion of Bowski, as the two share those techy bleeps and chilling bass crescendoes. So we were pleased to see that Bowski’s Talkbox/Leggings EP was just released on Fake Blood’s label Blood Music, the second EP and follow up to the excellent CloudsLiquid/Mauful Sir in September.
You can stream Talkbox below, and listen to Leggings in Bowski’s episode for the Wax:On Podcast from last Friday in Leeds. I’ve played this three times in a row and I still can’t get enough. I mean, the Pleasurekraft remix of La La Land? YES!

It’s that first-of-the-month syndrome where everyone decides to put on a night, and when you combine that with the back-to-school, freezing-cold, if-we-keep-dancing-maybe-winter-will-go-away feeling, the results are pretty explosive.
Friend-of-the-blog and Wax:On DJ Bowski has been finishing his new EP, so while he’s been in the studio he’s been so kind as to pop over his mix of Booka Shade‘s Regenerate. This remix has Bowski’s instantly-recognisable stamp all over it, and watch this space for more tracks and mixes later in the Summer. Also a timely reminder that Booka Shade’s new album More was released on Get Physical on 3 May.
