It being the first weekend of the month, there’s a number of options for your perusal this weekend.
It’s been a while since we’ve had a listen to the lovely Foamo‘s special brand of fidget house. Kye Gibbon’s been busybusybusy on the remix front, working on Breakage, and his own productions alongside Randomer.
He’s also found time to finish off his website, and he’s giving away a mix to celebrate.
It’s now Easter Saturday and most of us are probably looking back at a Bank Holiday double-header and trying desperately to wind up for the next… So, with this in mind, we’ve got a mix for you. If you usually weigh in heavy on the bass and light on the cow bells, this should soothe your broken mind and pick you up for the next 2 nights of Easter chaos.
The mix comes from Glix, who is 18 year old Will Ashworth from Manchester currently finding his niche with an ear for beautiful, almost blissful, chilled-out Dubstep. Included is a stunning dubbed down edit of Massive Attack’sParadise Circus from Breakage and there’s even a cheeky bit of Garage in there too…
We love Fridays. Especially this Friday, as we’re attending a very special birthday party. Ed Banger’s 7th birthday in fact. Pedro writes that he’s been burning exclusive new tracks for tonight’s set, and with Fake Blood and Riton joining the boys from Paris, we are truly spoilt.
This week we were lucky enough to catch Late of the Pier at their in-store appearance at Pure Groove. Erol Alkan popped in and played some records too, celebrating the release of the double A-side Blueberry/Best In the Class on his label Phantasy. Mine’s customised:
Here they are in this week’s tasty zipper: Woody II.
The album for next week is, of course, Crookers, Tons of Friends. Hugely hyped with download giveaways and a launch party at Fire tomorrow night, it’s a bumper 20 track-pack, including the beautiful Remedy (feat. Miike Snow).
