Tensnake on True Romance

tensThe new Freundchen EP from Tensnake on True Romance is a lovely little disco starter-pack, you could almost host a mini-carnival soundsystem by playing the three tracks on repeat as they recreate the journey through Notting Hill this weekend.

The title track is pure disco, a nice little warm up before the full-on summer chords, afrobeat vocals, double handclaps and whistles in the B-side Tazaar. Finally getting a little darker for the afterparty soundtrack No Fool.

The EP is out today, so get it here.

Miguel Puente – Adults Only

Here’s some great great chilled housey disco for a Thursday. Proton Radio for some time has been a base I’ve relied on for a nice mixes, chilled and easy; they used to be big players of vintage Sasha in the 2004, 2005, 2006 period, and that made me happy.

I love this Miguel Puente mix from start to finish; it’s full of Lee Foss/Hot Waves greats. Enjoy.

For That Healing Feeling…

Todd Terje

So far, so fun! The most important ingredient for successful rejuvenation after Bank Holiday is a healthy slice of top-quality disco. Tried and tested. Some Norwegian-mixed, leftfield disco from April 2008 should do just the trick.

When asked what to expect, Todd Terje explains: “If your wife allows you out for one hour only, but you still want a full DJ set with the slow beginning and the famous end-of-night smoocher, this is for you.”

Shiny Disco Balls

Here’s a little something kindly sent to us by our new friends Meester Moeilijk and Sjonnie Disco from Amsterdam. The Dutch duo look like they’re up for a good party, and this mix feels like the right antidote to a heavy weekend. If you happen to be in The Netherlands this weekend catch them at Italo Elite at De Club Up.

Double hand claps in all the right places….
