Woody’s Roundup

Ahhh, Kitsuné, you’re really spoiling us! We went to a fun Kitsuné vs Ponystep party at Heaven last Sunday, and are looking forward to the new Kitsuné Maison Vol 9 compilation, out 26 April. They’ve combined my favourites, The Twelves and Two Door Cinema Club (who played an excellent DJ set at the party) with suitably marvelous results, and have earnt a place in our hearts this week.

This week’s tracks are a bit of a mish-mash, but they’ve all made me happy. Starting a bit light and moving into the realms of dubstep as we work our way into the weekend.
Two Door Cinema Club- Something Good Can Work (The Twelves Remix)
Boy 8-Bit – The Keep (I’ve been waiting for this release for so long)
Monarchy – The Phoenix Alive (demo)
Mock & Toof – The Day Ken Died
Marcos Cabral & Shux – A Lifetime Groove
Slightly darker: Elite Force vs The Gossip – Standing in the Way of the Engine
And again: Plan B – She Said (16Bit remix)

Mad March

March mixes are coming thick, fast, and fantastic.

Here’s our third – the mighty Tronik Youth. Ever since the creation of possibly the best record of all time: the Tronik Youth remix of Late of the Pier’s Bathroom Gurgle, Neil Parnell has been dubbed by One From The Vaults as the King of the Remix. His italo-disco takes on the greats such as Ali Love and The Gossip firmly established him in our hearts, and his own latest EP Past Life was released on Hottwerk in December 2009.

This mix doesn’t disappoint, with a hefty helping of cow bells, pianos and rolling beats. I’m excited to see Bottin and Rodion in the track list, in time for the release of Galli on Eskimo Recordings on 22 March.
